She hugged and kissed me for it

What's the best thing to happen to a doctor you think??
I had been treating a patient for irregular periods and PCOS since a year now. When she came to me initially, she was a very lively, cheerful, you know, the kind who calls you 'Hey Doc!!', meaning, generally very friendly. She was a breather to have in your tensed daily rote.
She had been having irregular periods and was detected with PCOD and was coming around, but very slowly, to the extent that even she got worried. Believe it or not, that was worrying me too.
In all of this, she got married, mostly because of parents. Being the adjusting type, she went along most of the time, but yet was suffering due to a few marital issues. It was so burdening, that once cheerful, she had turned a complete opposite and would come very sad and dull, hardly speech audible.
Beyond her interpersonal issues, she was also under pressure to conceive, and was worried of backlash from inlaws due to her pcod issues. She was advised to stop the ongoing homeopathic treatment, and opt for the quick and technologically advanced allopathy. But she stuck to homeopathy, gave me the chance and the time to help her case.
It was a month i had met her. Last week she called up to say she was pregnant. Pregnant!!!! wow!! that was honey to my ears. And she came in for the visit yesterday and told me how she was first unsure of the UPT, so repeated it again the next, reconfirmed it with a gynaec, tried calling me to share the results, but was unable to since I was on leave. Said she was mumbling, 'Radha, where are you? where are you? i need you now'.
So when she was leaving, not only did she profusely thank, but crossed the barrier beyond our relationship as doctor and patient, hugged and kissed, just like a friend would do. I'm not sure that was professional, but I let it be. That feeling when she said you changed my life will ever remain unbeatable.
It was the best Doctors' day I had!!!
