She hugged and kissed me for it

Image
Photo credit: Daily Mail . Something beyond the doctor and patient relationship. What's the best thing to happen to a doctor you think?? I had been treating a patient for irregular periods and PCOS since a year now. When she came to me initially, she was a very lively, cheerful, you know, the kind who calls you 'Hey Doc!!', meaning, generally very friendly. She was a breather to have in your tensed daily rote. She had been having irregular periods and was detected with PCOD and was coming around, but very slowly, to the extent that even she got worried. Believe it or not, that was worrying me too. In all of this, she got married, mostly because of parents. Being the adjusting type, she went along most of the time, but yet was suffering due to a few marital issues. It was so burdening, that once cheerful, she had turned a complete opposite and would come very sad and dull, hardly speech audible. Beyond her interpersonal issues, she was also under pressu...

From right to left: Volunteer, Dr. Gnanprakasam, Dr. Murugan, Dr. Prafull Vijyakar, Dr. Tarang Vijaykar, Dr. Ambrish Vijaykar, Dr. Ilango Subramanian. Photo credit: Facebook The Predictive Chennai seminar was delight to the eager learners. Not only from the chief presenter, but many others too. The organizing team, Team HAPPH'Y TN, along with huge band of volunteers, were on their toes for the entire 2 days and their happiness at the success of the event was evident, as were they destined.  Guest of Honor, Dr. V. Gnanaprakasam, formwe Vice-Chancellor, TANUVAS INDIA, was a memorable orator. His speech was most motivating, especially coming from a allopathic veterinary practitioner. And many wondered on his role in a Homeopathic seminar and he himself chose to clear the air on his presence.  The history goes to a time, when Dr. Gnanaprakasam had been bestowed with a granddaughter who was born premature and diagnosed with retinal detachment and ROP in one eye. Th...

LIMITLESS SCOPE OF HOMEOPATHY - Dr. Prafull Vijaykar in Chennai

Image
On 25 and 26th March 2017, Chennai witnessed a humongous response to the presence of one of the leading Homeopaths of the world, Dr. Prafull Vijaykar . Organised in the massive Vivekanda Auditorium of the prestigious Anna University, Guindy, these 2 days were truly enlightening as Vivekenda would have wanted it, thanks to the organising team, HAPPH'Y TN .  A week has passed since witnessing the extraordinary, almost miraculous, cures by the founder of Predictive Homeopathy, Dr. Prafull Vijaykar, and I'm still to be zapped out.   That happens to everyone right? After every seminar, every class, every new learning, you are awestruck, for a day or may be a couple of days, at times even lasting a few months. But this is going to be different. Since the lecture, I have returned to my daily practice - the rote of back to back monthly followups, but instead of falling back to my own ways, I'm more attentive to what I'm doing, where the case is moving.  I'm sure ...

Hypoxic Brain Injury It is a well known fact that if a child doesnt cry on birth, it is prone to have some problems in its immediate development. To an extent, that pediatricians prepare parents of these children for possible retardation, cerebral palsy, development delay - walking/talking etc. Little do they know that Homeopathy has the potential to reverse the effects and prevent any progression.  Chief complaint The following case is of a 4yr old male child unable to talk, walk, or stand on his own. Father had to carry him. H/o LSCS and did not cry after birth. They however had no idea that every thing had a reason.  History The C-section itself was re...

Fever and its management

Image
Fever is one of the prime reasons that parents call their children's doctors, and it is true that any fever in an infant younger than 3 months is cause for major concern, as there is a risk of serious bacterial infections. Also, a child who has a seizure with fever should be checked by a physician, at least the first time. However, fever is actually a signal that an immune system is working well and in older children who do not appear to be particularly distressed, fever is a positive sign. It is evidence that the child has an active immune system. Fever does not harm your brain or your body, although it does increase your need for fluids. Parents are not the only people who may become overly concerned, however, according to the New York Times: "Other studies have looked at attitudes among medical personnel, who can be just as worried about fever as parents. Some of the phobia 'comes from doctors and nurses.'" It's the middle of the ...
